Grenswerk Café

Grenswerk Café is a cultural meeting spot in Venlo, known for its vibrant mix of music, community, and creativity. Since July 2023, I have been working with them as a freelance designer, developing visual concepts that communicate the café’s inclusive and energetic character across various formats.

In October 2024, I was commissioned to redesign the café’s food and drinks menu. The new design brings together functionality and identity, with a clear layout that guides the visitor with ease. Bold graphic elements and a strong typographic presence reflect the café’s visual atmosphere. The design uses bold, monotone color blocks—green for drinks and pink for food—that create visual contrast and rhythm throughout the layout, while clearly separating the two sections. The large type, playful titles, and custom layout choices give the menu a distinctive voice, while staying aligned with the broader visual language I developed for Grenswerk. This includes posters and the weekly "Deze Week in het Café" event overviews.
